Jessica McCarthy joined IRC as Vice President of Operations in August of 2018, after many years of being impressed with IRC’s quality and mission.
Prior to IRC, Jessica had a career as a speech-language pathologist working with a wide variety of patients from infants with severe feeding disorders to children with autism to the elderly. While she has always come back to health care, she took a number of detours into other industries after moving into management and has an expansive background which ranges from finance to IT to commercial lighting. Health care always called her back, however and she has held Regional Director and Vice President positions at RehabCare and HealthPro-Heritage where she learned the benefits and challenges that being part of a large organization can bring and connected her to IRC through amazing physiatrists at many of the SNFs in her area. Jessica also started her own Medical Care Management business to help families and people struggling with medical issues. This opportunity was a tremendous growing experience as she sharpened her skills at every aspect of running a successful business, but missed working with a team so scaled back the business so that it could operate as a side venture.
Jessica studied Communication Disorders and Marketing at Bridgewater State College and obtained her MS from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in Boston. In addition to extensive continuing education as an SLP, Jessica has studied many areas of business including E-commerce, Human Resources, IT Security, and Business Strategy.
