Amish Patel, D.O.

Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder

Dr. Amish Patel graduated medical school from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 2006. After graduating, he obtained a transitional year internship at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago and graduated with Honors in 2007.

After graduation in 2007, Dr. Patel began his specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, IL. While at Marianjoy, he headed up several committees, including the Ethics Committee, Patient Safety Committee, and GME Committee. Dr. Patel served as Chief Resident his senior year and graduated his residency in 2010.

Currently, Dr. Patel is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Rehab Consultants (IRC), a physician group specializing in rehab within Post-Acute facilities. IRC is the largest Physiatry group in the country, with over 125 physicians providing Physiatry services in over 25 states and 400+ facilities.

A visionary in today’s world of Value-Based Medicine, Dr. Patel currently serves on the board for Third Eye Telehealth as well as Vitae Health Systems.

Dr. Patel’s been involved with numerous professional societies throughout the years, including being a member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM). Currently, Dr. Patel is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR), and The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (AMDA-PALTC). In addition, he serves on the Evidence, Quality, and Performance Committee (EQPC) for the AAPMR.

Matt Ray, MBA

Chief Operating Officer, Co-Founder

Matt Ray serves as co-founder and chief operating officer of IRC. Prior to IRC, Matt has an expansive background spanning from sales and marketing roles as well as director and leadership roles with the global medical device manufacturer Smith & Nephew (SNN).  During his nine-year tenure in medical devices he supervised numerous product launches and implemented and developed new sales and marketing strategies while expanding and developing sales teams across the US.

Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Drury University and his MBA from the Breech School of Business at Drury University.

Steve Gnatz, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Steve M. Gnatz, M.D., M.H.A., is the Chief Medical Officer for Integrated Rehab Consultants, a nationwide group of physiatrists practicing post-acute rehabilitation. Dr. Gnatz is the Frank H. Krusen, MD, Lifetime Achievement Award winner, the highest award given out from the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, (AAPM&R).

Dr. Gnatz is a retired Professor in the department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois and served as Medical Director of PM&R at Loyola between 2004 and 2014. Prior to that, he was Medical Director and EVP for Medical Services at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital. He also previously held the position of Medical Director of the Howard A. Rusk Rehabilitation Center in Columbia, Missouri. At the University of Missouri, he was Professor and Chair of Clinical Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) between 1996 and 2001.

Dr. Gnatz received his medical degree (MD) from the University of Illinois and completed his residency in PM&R at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He received a master’s degree in health administration (MHA) from the University of Missouri.

He has authored many peer-reviewed articles and the well-regarded book EMG Basics. An avid lecturer, his CV lists over 100 presentations to audiences of all types on a wide variety of topics.

Dr. Gnatz remains very active in organized medicine. He is a Past President of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (2005-2006) and has held many other leadership positions in professional associations. He is a Past President of the US Bone and Joint Initiative (USBJI) – the US National Action Network of the World Health Organization. He continues to lecture nationally on the subject of the value of physiatry in all rehabilitation environments.

A bicyclist, writer, and photographer in his spare time, Dr. Gnatz lives in Chicago.

Azlan Tariq, D.O.

Chief Clinical Officer

Azlan Tariq D.O. FAAPMR CIME is a Board Certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician and the Chief Clinical Officer for Integrated Rehab Consultants, a nationwide group of physiatrists practicing post-acute rehabilitation.

He earned his undergraduate degree at Stony Brook University and received his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Illinois during which he was awarded the Resident of the Year honor and was involved in various committees and leadership roles. He went on to complete additional fellowship training in Pain and Musculoskeletal Medicine at University of Wisconsin-Madison.

He has lectured at various conferences around the country and he is the current chair of the AAPM&R SNF member community.

Dr. Tariq and his PA’s currently provide PM&R services to various Post-Acute facilities in the Chicagoland area. Dr. Tariq is also the owner and founder of Optimal Health Medical Fitness and Illinois Institute of Regenerative Medicine. His outpatient practices are dedicated to providing the most advanced non-surgical orthopedic and regenerative medicine treatments in the Chicagoland area.

Jim Mihnovich

Chief Financial Officer

Jim Mihnovich serves as the chief financial officer for Medrina, providing the company corporate and healthcare finance leadership.

Jim’s background and experience comes from over twenty years in physician practice management, leading and directing the accounting, finance and operations departments for large public companies, private equity backed high-growth entities and academic health and science organizations.

Prior to joining Medrina, Jim served as chief financial officer for Complete Health a primary care value-based risk company. In that role, he assisted the company since inception and throughout the acquisition and integration of fourteen physician practices. The company executed in less than three years on a value-based Medicare advantage risk strategy that added seven full-risk health plan contracts with combined clinic and insurance revenues of $350 million.

Before joining Complete Health, he held finance and operational positions for the University of Louisville Physicians, LifePoint Health, Hospital Corporation of America and Phycor. He began his professional career as an auditor with Deloitte in New York City focusing on banks, brokers/dealers, and insurance companies.

Rahul Sharma, M.D.

VP of Inpatient Rehabilitation

Dr. Rahul Sharma received his medical degree from Mahatma Gandhi Mission’s Medical College in 2001 and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, IL. After graduating from Marianjoy in 2007, Dr. Sharma joined Marianjoy, where he served on the Medical Executive Committee.

In 2011, Dr. Sharma went into private practice and founded – Associated Physicians of Rehabilitation(APR). Dr. Sharma has been the Medical Director at Weiss Memorial Hospital and MacNeal Hospital. In addition, he helped launch the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at MacNeal Hospital, was the Market Lead for Tenet HealthCare, and spearheaded the creation of the Bolar Center for Day Rehabilitation at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL.

Dr. Sharma is currently the Medical Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation at Northwest Community Hospital. In addition, his group, APR, provides directorship services at Weiss, Mercy, MacNeal, and Northwest Community Hospitals, Subacute Rehabilitation Centers, and assists in developing high-quality rehabilitation programs.

Dr. Sharma and APR joined Integrated Rehab Consultants(IRC) in 2020. Dr. Sharma is the Vice President of Inpatient Rehabilitation for IRC and is helping develop inpatient rehabilitation services to better serve patients and the community.

Dr. Sharma is actively involved administratively at Northwest Community Hospital, serves on the utilization committee, and is also on the AMRPA Denials Management Committee. He strongly believes high-quality rehabilitation can be delivered to meet patients’ expectations while still being a good steward to the needs of healthcare systems.

Chris Broz, PA-C

Chris Broz is a Physician Assistant with Integrated Rehab Consultants. In addition, he is the VP of APP Services and oversees the development and training of new and current Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.  He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology.  He continued his education with the Barry University PA Program where he graduated with a masters degree in Clinical Medical Sciences and was certified as a Physician Assistant. Chris is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

Kunwarjit Singh Duggal, M.D., FAAPMR

Director of Physician Development

Kunwarjit Singh Duggal, M.D. is Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and serves as the Director of Physician Development for Integrated Rehab Consultants. He received two bachelor degrees in the fields of Finance and Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He went on to obtain his medical degree at Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL. He completed his residency training in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from Rush University Medical College in Chicago, IL. He practices Physiatry within the sub-acute rehabilitation environment throughout the Greater Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana. In addition, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rush University Medical Center. He regularly lectures on the benefits of a plant-based diet, meditation, and a healthy and active lifestyle. Dr. Duggal speaks English, Spanish, Hindi, and Punjabi.

Clinical Specialist

Anne Elliott is a Physician Assistant with Integrated Rehab Consultants working as a Clinical Specialist.

She received her undergraduate degree in physiology from Michigan State University, graduated from Mercy College PA program, and obtained her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska. She is a distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a past President for the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants.

Over her career, she has been adjunct faculty at A.T. Still University Physician assistant program, as well as a guest lecturer at other PA Programs as well as many state and national conventions. She has held a variety of positions during her 33-year career and has vast medical experience. Anne is an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Navy.
