Dr. Rahul Sharma received his medical degree from Mahatma Gandhi Mission’s Medical College in 2001 and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, IL. After graduating from Marianjoy in 2007, Dr. Sharma joined Marianjoy, where he served on the Medical Executive Committee.
In 2011, Dr. Sharma went into private practice and founded – Associated Physicians of Rehabilitation(APR). Dr. Sharma has been the Medical Director at Weiss Memorial Hospital and MacNeal Hospital. In addition, he helped launch the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at MacNeal Hospital, was the Market Lead for Tenet HealthCare, and spearheaded the creation of the Bolar Center for Day Rehabilitation at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL.
Dr. Sharma is currently the Medical Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation at Northwest Community Hospital. In addition, his group, APR, provides directorship services at Weiss, Mercy, MacNeal, and Northwest Community Hospitals, Subacute Rehabilitation Centers, and assists in developing high-quality rehabilitation programs.
Dr. Sharma and APR joined Integrated Rehab Consultants(IRC) in 2020. Dr. Sharma is the Vice President of Inpatient Rehabilitation for IRC and is helping develop inpatient rehabilitation services to better serve patients and the community.
Dr. Sharma is actively involved administratively at Northwest Community Hospital, serves on the utilization committee, and is also on the AMRPA Denials Management Committee. He strongly believes high-quality rehabilitation can be delivered to meet patients’ expectations while still being a good steward to the needs of healthcare systems.
